FG agrees with ASUU to integrate UTAS into IPPIS 

ABUJA---THE Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, last night agreed to integrate University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) into Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). The minister of Labour and Employment Senator Chris Ngige disclosed this after about four hours of technical engagement between both parties. He said the two parties will reconvene on Monday after the union deliberate with it's National Executive Council (NEC). The President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi who concurred with the Minister said the  National Executive Committee of the union will review the conditions for the integration of UTAS into IPPIS. ABUJA - NO fewer than 100 students of the University of Abuja have been expelled by the university's Senate for their involvement in examination misconduct. Those expelled, according to a statement, Sunday, by Dr. Habib Yakoob, Head, Information and University Relations, of the institution, "comprise 72 undergraduate and 28 postgraduate students." The development followed the consideration of the report and recommendations of the Central Examination Misconduct Committee, of the university's Senate at its 174th Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, 6th November 2019. The statement said," Five undergraduate students were rusticated for one academic session, three were rusticated for one semester, while three others had no case." The President and Vice-Chancellor of the Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Prof. Tayo Ademola, said he shed tears while signing the letter of expulsion of the female student having sex in a viral video. The vice-chancellor said this on Sunday during a media parley held on the school premises. He, however, said both of them had been expelled even as he maintained that the act did not take place on Babcock premises. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) authorities have arrested a 200-level journalism student of a university in Benin Republic and handed over to the Department of State Services. Empire News gathered that the student identified as Rose joined other corps members deployed to Zamfara State for Batch C Stream 1 orientation course which ended on Monday November 26 with a fake certificate she obtained from another university in Benin Republic.
